# MLM-1 SoM

## Product Summary

The **MLM-1 SoM** is a system-on-module powered by Mobilint's REGULUS AI SoC. It integrates the NPU, CPU, ISP, video codec, memory, and storage on a single 55 × 50 mm board, and delivers **10 TOPS (INT8) of AI inference performance** at a **3 W TDP**.

MLM-1 SoM is designed for products that build AI into size- and power-constrained devices. The module runs from a single 5 V input and connects to the product board through three 100-pin connectors.

## Hardware (Host System) Prerequisites

MLM-1 SoM is a **carrier-dependent module**. It needs a carrier board that supplies power and brings out the I/O the application uses.

- Carrier board with three 100-pin connectors (J1, J2, J3) that mate with the module
- 5 V power input to the module

To evaluate the module before designing a custom carrier board, use the [REGULUS AI EVK](regulus_ai_evk.md), which combines MLM-1 SoM with an official carrier board. Software and compiled models validated on the EVK carry over to a custom carrier board without changes.

## Software Prerequisites

MLM-1 SoM runs Linux on its quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU, with Mobilint's SDK qb modules preloaded. Applications, including those that use the Vision DSP, run directly on the module.
